Hello, I’m Beth Kirkbride, a freelance writer and editor with a passion for storytelling and a solid track record of producing engaging content for different platforms.

I graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English Literature in 2018. I am also a gold-standard NCTJ-qualified journalist, bringing a rigorous, professional approach to every piece of storytelling I undertake – whether that’s an article or branded content.

My story

My journey began in journalism as a teenager, where I cut my teeth writing for online music outlets. For the past decade, I have also been at the helm of The Indiependent, an independent online magazine I founded at the age of 17 to provide a platform for young writers and creatives.

Running The Indiependent has given me a unique insight into the challenges that small businesses face in today’s digital landscape. I understand the importance of building a strong, consistent brand presence and the need for effective marketing and communications strategies that connect with audiences. This experience makes me the ideal person to help small businesses and start-ups develop marcomms solutions that truly work.

Beyond journalism, I’ve had in-house marcomms roles where my responsibilities have been wide-ranging; I’ve got experience managing websites and social media channels, creating and editing multimedia content, and executing PR campaigns. I’m also experienced in crafting compelling newsletters and developing content strategies that boost engagement and foster community.
